Located on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Noosa is a sunny paradise known for it's golden beaches, laid-back atmosphere and beautiful coastal landscapes.

After a week of beach hopping, coastal walks and exploring Noosa’s town, we've put together this relaxed 2-day Noosa itinerary, perfect for a weekend escape or a short visit as part of a longer Queensland road trip.

Day 1: Coastal Walks, Beaches & Hastings Street

The first day of this Noosa itinerary is all about soaking up the coastal views, exploring the national park and enjoying the relaxed pace of this beachside town.

Morning: Noosa Coastal Walk

Start your trip with one of Noosa’s most iconic experiences: the coastal walk through Noosa National Park. On this walk you'll see Noosa's stunning coastline with its sandy beaches, turquoise water and rocky cliffs.

We parked at the Noosa National Park Carpark, but you can start the walk from Noosa Heads Main Beach. The entire coastal walk is around 10.8 km (return), but we only walked to the fairy pools which is just under 5 km (return).

Along the way, you’ll pass lots of viewpoints and beaches such as Boiling Pot Lookout, Little Cove, Tea Tree Bay and Dolphin Bay Lookout (you can see dolphins if you're lucky!).

After passing lots of coves, you'll reach the Fairy Pools, a pair of natural rock pools  tucked just off the track near Granite Bay. This is a beautiful spot to swim, but just be cautious on the rocks and check the tides before visiting (don't swim at high tide).

On the way back we highly recommend stopping at one of the beaches like Granite Bay for a swim! It had incredible swimming conditions and was some of the bluest and clearest water I've ever seen.

Afternoon: Shop & Explore Hastings Street

Once you’ve finished your walk and dried off, wander over to Hastings Street, Noosa’s shopping street full of trendy boutiques, cafes and restaurants.

It’s a great place to grab lunch, one of our favourite spots is Betty's Burgers! We spent the whole afternoon browsing local shops and enjoying coffee breaks in the many incredible cafes.

If shopping isn't your idea of fun, we'd suggest heading to Noosa Heads Main Beach to do some more swimming, sunbathing or even surfing! This beach is known for its epic waves and is perfect for beginners, you can rent surfboards or get lessons with local instructors.

Evening: Sunset on the Beach & Dinner in Town

If you want to watch the sunset before heading off for dinner, head to Main Beach, one of the best spots in Noosa to watch the sunset.

For dinner, Noosa has plenty of great spots depending on what you're after. We highly recommend Bombetta or Coya at Noosa Junction. Bombetta is an italian restaurant and bar which has delicious pizza and pasta, and Coya is a Peruvian restaurant, although it's limited in vegetarian options (the portobello tacos were great)!

Day 2: Exploring the Everglades

The second day of this Noosa itinerary takes you to the Noosa Everglades and the option to visit the iconic local markets. Depending on your interests and timing, you’ve got two great options to choose from for your morning.

Option 1: Morning Everglades Tour with Canoeing

The Noosa Everglades are one of only two everglade systems in the world, so we'd highly recommend an everglades tour while you're here! We actually didn't pre-book this as a group of 6 and couldn't get a last minute tour, so unfortunately we didn't do this, but we would have loved to.

Therefore, we highly recommend pre-booking if this is something you're interested in! You can do an early morning Noosa Everglades tour, which usually starts around 7:30–8am and lasts about 4.5 hours, offering a peaceful paddle or eco-cruise through serene waterways, surrounded by unique nature and wildlife.

Option 2: Eumundi Markets + Short Everglades Tour

If your visit falls on a Wednesday or Saturday, spend the morning exploring the iconic Eumundi Markets. The market is just a 25-minute drive from Noosa and is full of delicious street food, handmade crafts, homewares, clothes and so much more.

It's actually the biggest artisan market in Australia with over 600 stalls, so you can easily spend hours wandering around all of the stalls - we did! You can grab some lunch here before heading off to the everglades.

In the afternoon, join one of the shorter Everglades tours, which usually departs around 1:30-2pm and lasts about 2–2.5 hours. You’ll still get to see the best parts of the everglades, just on a shorter cruise!

Evening: Sunset Drinks & Dinner at Pucca

After a day of exploring, head to Noosa River, especially around Gympie Terrace, for a laid-back atmosphere to watch the sunset.

For dinner, we highly recommend checking out Pucca, a modern Indian restaurant and gin cocktail bar right by the river. The restaurant has a very quirky and cool vibe, and we had some of the best Indian street food and gin and tonic here!

Is 2 days in Noosa enough?

Two days gives you a great introduction to Noosa and while you won't see everything, it's the perfect amount of time to do a bit of exploring and relaxing.

You'll be able to explore the National Parks, see the Everglades and do some shopping and beach hopping.

Where to stay for 2 days in Noosa?

We'd recommend staying around Noosa Heads or Hastings Street if you want to be close to the beach, shops, and restaurants - it’s walkable and convenient. We stayed in Noosa Heads which was ideal as we were a 10 minute walk from Noosa Junction (lots of restaurants).

You can also stay in Noosaville which is a bit quieter and by the river, with plenty of beautiful riverfront accommodation. Some great options are:

  • Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort (Hastings Street) – A 5-star beachfront hotel with a lagoon pool, spa and elegant rooms.
  • Noosa Blue Resort (Noosa Heads) – A stylish, mid-range resort with self-contained apartments, private spas, and panoramic views.
  • Bounce Noosa (Noosaville) – A boutique-style hostel with resort vibes, perfect for budget travellers or solo adventurers.

Do I need a car for 2 days in Noosa?

It depends on where you stay. If you're based in Noosa Heads or Noosaville, you can easily get around on foot or with local buses. However, having a car makes visiting spots like Eumundi Markets, the Everglades, or other hinterland towns easier.

Our group rented a car as they travelled from Brisbane, but we travelled to Noosa with public transport (train and a bus). It's a lot easier to get around with a car, but if you only stopping in Noosa for two days before travelling further along the coast, you'll be able to get by with buses or taxis!
